Introduction

The topic we want to explore is the culture conflicts of the new immigrants between their hometown and Taiwan and their trouble fitting in at school. In order to know more about new immigrants in Taiwan, we went to Zhongping Road Story House for “The Lecture Series on Southeast Asian Culture three times.” We analyzed questionnaires to know if the new immigrants and their children have any trouble fitting in in Taiwan, and interviewed some schoolmates. We hope we can promote new immigrants’ culture to help new immigrants adapt themselves to their school life by helping other students to know more about new immigrants’ dilemma, language, and culture. We hope to make our campus more and more diverse.

In order to systematically carry out this research, we decided to use the ORID Focused Conversation to conduct the research. The table is as follows:

In Taiwan, new immigrants may encounter many difficulties. It is not easy for them to better their life in the new environment. We should help them with tolerance and friendship.
